今年で4回目を迎えた伊勢志摩パールジェリーグランプリ2021のテーマは「つなぐ」。コロナ禍で、会いたい人に会えなかった想いが見事に表現された素晴らしい作品の数々が92点、世界10ヵ国から集結しました。投票総数2553票。日本及びシンガポールの展示会場及びオンライン投票により、優秀作品を選出いたしました。(オンライン投票は1カウント＝0.25票)様々な規制の中、無事に開催出来ましたのは、ご参加頂きましたクリエイター、アーティストの皆様、ご支援・ご協力頂きましたすべての皆様のご尽力にほかなりません。ここに改めてお礼申し上げます。あこや真珠は、地球温暖化・海洋汚染・後継者不足などの影響を受け、年々生産量が減少しています。私達は、少しでも多くの方に、自然環境を守り持続可能な産業である「真珠養殖」について知っていただき、また、「真珠養殖発祥の地-伊勢志摩」を活気づけていけるよう、今後も活動を続けて参ります。

Pearl FALCO’s Akoya Pearl Grand Prix 2021. Thank You for Yet Another Stellar Year!
We were greatly honored to be able to conduct our Annual Akoya Pearl Grand Prix in public as hoped, while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for everyone involved. 92 Pearl Jewelry Creations from 10 Countries were on display from June 10th 2021 for about 7 months at our Pearl FALCO Ise Shima Gallery and the Japan Creative Center Embassy of Japan in Singapore. This year’s winners were determined by both offline and online voting, with the total number of votes tallied at 2,553 including online votes of 0.25 per vote.

Pearl FALCO 2021’s Theme. “Connections.” What a tribute to all the talented designers involved, with so much dedicated focus put into each creation. It was wonderful to behold all the designers coming together, connecting with each other and the world beyond countries, language, and culture.

    雨が降らなければ、虹は見えない。暗闇がなければ、光は見えない。悲しみがなければ、幸せも感じない。このコロナ禍、私達は皆、今までは当たり前だったことにも感動し、周りの人と繋がることに、改めて感謝するようになった。

    In this design, Raina explores the relationship between a rainbow and rain. As Raina explains, “Without rain we can’t see a rainbow. Without darkness we can’t see light. Without sadness there would be no happiness. In spite of all the hard times the pandemic has brought, it can also help us to better appreciate what we have and how we connect with people around us.”

    弾丸をモチーフにしたリング。曼荼羅の連続性と左右対称が、「つなぐ」を表現し、あこや真珠をアクセントとした。

    The ring looked like a bullet and had mandalas design on it and its repetition and symmetry showcase connection. Enchased Pearls create the flow.

    七夕に願いを
    TANABATA “The Wishes”

    七夕は、日本の星のお祭り。愛し合う二人が、天の川を挟んで、1年に一度会うことができる。輝石は、短冊に書かれた願いを。あこや真珠は、その夢がかなうことを表現。
    どんな困難な状況であっても、愛し合う二人は、強い愛情、繋がり、夢、希望に包まれ、時空を超えて、会うことができる。

    Tanabata is the star festival in Japan and once a year two lovers are able to meet each other over the Milky Way. The gemstones represent devoted lovers’ and paper wishes hung from bamboo trees. The akoya pearls symbolize wishes to come true. In spite of challenges, lovers with strong love and connections, hopes and wishes, will continue to meet beyond time and space.

    希望を運ぶ人

    イチョウは、希望の象徴で、原爆投下後の広島でも生き残ることができたと言われている。 希望を表現し、世界平和と健康を祈る。

    Ginkgo has been used as a symbol of hope and well-known to be survived from the atomic bomb in Hiroshima. The design symbolizes hope and prayers for peace and good health.

    運命の赤い糸
    The Red String of Fate

    日本には、「運命の人」と言う考えがある。運命の二人は、赤い糸で結ばれ、どんなに時間がかかっても、会うことができる。 両サイドを赤色の線でつなぎ、その間にあこや真珠を散りばめ、人生の出会いを表現する。

    Known as the “The Red String of Fate,” a popular Japanese legend explains how much of our lives are preordained, and we are connected to our true love with a red thread. In this design, Teresa connects two sides with red color wire encasing baby Akoya pearls symbolizing our interwoven lives.
